Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is the wholesale banking arm of Santander, the Eurozone's largest banking group. Across Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, SCIB works with corporates, financial institutions, financial sponsors and fast-growing companies across investment banking, corporate banking, transaction banking and markets.
Our Benelux story is different from that of most established investment banks. The franchise was launched in Amsterdam in 2020 by Niels Ackerman with just four people, a small number of clients and a clear ambition to build a meaningful business in one of Europe's most competitive banking markets. Since then, the team has grown to more than 25 professionals in Amsterdam, and the platform now covers investment banking, corporate banking, financial institutions, transaction banking and multinational clients, serving more than 70 clients across the Netherlands and Belgium.
For junior bankers, that combination creates a unique proposition: the opportunity to help build a franchise while working on transactions backed by a global investment bank. Our Amsterdam investment banking team is deliberately small and entrepreneurial, giving juniors significant responsibility and deal exposure from an early stage. At the same time, they work alongside Santander's global sector and product teams in London, New York, Madrid and across the broader network on major cross-border transactions.
